Israel’s righteous war!

This text was originally published in summer 2006 and translated to English in October 2007. Since then a lot has changed, yet our conclusion remains the same.

Since July 12th 2006 there is war again in the middle east. At least if you follow the logic of the western media, that always calls Israels reactions to continuing rocket attacks on Israeli territory by Lebanese and Palestinian terror organizations a war, but never the initial terror acts themselves. As expected European public opinion was formed quickly. Israels reaction is “over the top” both members of European parliaments and the simple people in front of their telly claim alike: Violence to be suspended immediately and while “Hisbollah’s provocations” are to be criticized, Israel’s reaction is too extreme
While European politicians were among the first to criticize, they never explain how the world and Israel should deal with an organization like Hisbollah, that promotes the annihilation of Israel and, since Israel’s withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000, piles up an arsenal of destructive weapons, with the financial and logistic support of both Syria and Iran. Instead of finding answers to this urgent threat Europeans promote an abstract “pacifism”, assured through biased media reports.

The political left and other “friends of peace” in Europe and Austria disavow the fact that the annihilation of Israel and it’s people was part of the PLO program (at a time when the majority of the 68th movement solidarized with them), it’s part of the Hamas program, who leads the current Palestinian government, it’s part of the Islamic Jihad’s policy and it’s part of Shiite Hisbollah’s main policy. Despite of these facts Israel’s defensive warfare is either disliked or condemned by the majority of the European public. Simply spoken, the European public wants Israel to wait until the Islamist rackets implemented their policy of destroying Israel. Maybe that’s what they regard as peace… Once again Paul Spiegel’s famous words apply: “Behind the call for peace the murderers entrench.”

Israel’s righteous war!

Israel’s war is righteous. Righteous primarily because it was imposed from outside. It is Hisbolla, supported by Syria and Iran, Hamas and other radical Palestianian groups that not only do not acknowledge Israel but try to destroy it. That’s why there is no alternative to military action. Supposed Israel would negotiate, what should they negotiate about with antisemitic murderers? Whether Israel should only be partially destroyed or everyone should be driven into the sea? Israel wages this war to grant security to those Jewish people, that were forced through antisemitic hatred all over the world, to come to Palestine. Israel fights to keep the sanctuary for those who are potential victims of antisemitsm alive. Israel’s protective function is vital in a capitalistic world, that through its forms of fetish, inevitably produces antisemitism.

Whether Israel’s government always acts wisely is a legitimate question. But then, which government ever acts wisely? It might sound cynic to some, but Israel also acts in the name of the majority of the Lebanese people, who do not want to live in a Shiite theocracy à la Iran. This theocracy has already become a reality in Hisbollah controlled southern Lebanon where not even the most basic civic rights exist.

Civilians, which civilians?

Each civilian victim in this conflict is to be bemoaned, no matter on which side. Yet who exactly is a civilian? Is a Palestinian suicide bomber who kills civilians in an Israeli disco a civilian until he commits that act? And if an Israeli commando unit manages to stop him, did they kill a civilian? Jihadist warriors hardly ever attack the Israeli military, that’s not important for them, their target is the jew.

Of course, from time to time Israels army kills real civilians, which is also a result of self proclaimed “god’s warriors” policy of hiding their rocket launchers in living quarters amongst children or even next to orphanages and schools.

Prospects?

Israel’s aim is to finally disarm Hisbollah and Hamas. No matter what European media claims this goal is very defensive. Israel does not want to annex foreign territory or force other people to convert to its faith. What Israel wants is to disarm terrorist organizations. Disarming is only possible at the place where these groups stack and fire their weapons.

There is no alternative to military action against Hisbollah and Hamas. Only if these groups, who in the past managed to disturb the peace process, are destroyed, there will be a real chance for peace in the Middle East.
